Weighted Overhead Lunges

The Official Official Rule

Lunge down the field carrying a weight plate above your head. You cannot rest the plate on your head and your knee must touch the ground on each lunge. If you have to rest, you can put the plate down but cannot take a step forward until the plate is above your head again.

Suck Factor

Depending how slow you go, these may feel like a relief (if you consider holding a 45 lb. weight plate above your head a relief). At least it’s not burpees, right?

Fancy Gyms (Not Needed)

  • State-of-the-art gym equipment (Just those weights and a whole lotta floor space. Maybe some padded flooring if you're feeling fancy.)
  • Spacious workout areas (You'll need room for those lunges. And maybe a safety net for when those weights inevitably come crashing down.)

Start with lighter weights and focus on maintaining good form.
